What is Blackjack?

Blackjack is a casino card game that is played with a standard deck of 52 cards. The objective of the game is to obtain a hand with a total point value as close to 21 as possible without exceeding it. Each numbered card has a corresponding value, while face cards are worth 10 points and the Ace can be worth either 1 or 11 points, depending on the player’s choice.

The game starts with each player receiving two cards, both face up, while the dealer receives one card face up and another face down. Players can then decide whether they want to “stand” with their two cards or receive “another card” from the dealer, in an attempt to improve their hand.

Players can “split” their cards if they have the same value, thus creating two separate hands to play. They can also “double down” on their bet if they believe their hand has good chances of beating the dealer.

The ultimate goal is to beat the dealer’s hand without exceeding 21. If a player’s hand exceeds 21, they lose the bet, regardless of the dealer’s hand value. If a player achieves a hand of 21 points with their first two cards (an ace and a 10-value card), this is known as “blackjack” and usually pays 3 to 2 relative to the original bet.

Blackjack is a popular game due to its simplicity and excitement, and it is also found in our casino.

What is “BUST” in Blackjack?

“BUST” in Blackjack refers to the situation where a player’s total card sum exceeds 21. When a player “busts,” they lose the bet. If the dealer “busts,” all active players who did not “bust” win the round.

What is “PUSH” in Blackjack?

“Push” in Blackjack is a term that refers to a tie between the player and the dealer. When a “push” occurs, neither the player nor the dealer wins, and the bet is returned to the player.

What does “SPLIT” mean in Blackjack?

“SPLIT” in Blackjack occurs when you have a pair of cards with the same value. In this case, you have the option to split the pair and play them as two separate hands. To do this, you must make a second bet equal to the original bet. Each of the cards from the initial pair becomes the first card of a new hand.
